FOET with EBS Training
(OPITO Course Code: 5858)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The FOET (with EBS) is open to persons who have a valid (in-date) OPITO-approved BOSIET (with CAEBS), BOSIET, TBOSIET, FOET (with CA-EBS), FOET or TFOET certificate.

AIM

This training programme is designed to meet the further offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel new (or returning) to the offshore oil and gas industry who will be supplied with a rebreather emergency breathing system (EBS) during offshore helicopter travel.

OBJECTIVES

This training provides learners with the opportunity to practice and demonstrate emergency response skills which are not possible to practice during drills, exercises and emergency training offshore.

The objectives of the FOET (with EBS) are that learners will be able to

  1. Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment and follow procedures in preparing for and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.

  2. Demonstrate that they can use basic firefighting equipment effectively, and use self-rescue techniques in low visibility and completely obscured visibility situations e.g. smoke-filled areas.

  3. Demonstrate that they can perform basic first aid.

ACHIEVEMENT OF CERTIFICATION

To achieve the Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) with Emergency Breathing System (EBS) Training the learner will need to complete the 3 mandatory units, Emergency First Aid, Fire Fighting & Self Rescue, Helicopter Safety & Escape.
