
Tropical BOSIET with Shallow Water CA-EBS (5508)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

AIM
This training aims to provide for learners who are undertaking Tropical BOSIET and Shallow Water Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System Initial Deployment Training consecutively.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the Tropical BOSIET Training are that learners will be able to:

Identify the generic hazards which are specific to offshore oil and gas installations, potential risks associated with those hazards, and how controls are put in place to eliminate or reduce risks.

Identify key offshore related safety regulations and explain the basic safety management concepts.

(c) Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment, and follow procedures in preparing for, and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.

(d) Demonstrate sea survival and first aid techniques

(e) Demonstrate that they can effectively use basic firefighting equipment, and practice self-rescue techniques in low visibility situations, including smoke-filled areas.
The objectives of the additional CA-EBS training delivered in addition to the T-BOSIET, T-HUET, T-FOET or OPITO BOSIET/FOET/HUET with EBS programme are to:

Ensure learners are familiar with the use of the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS)

Ensure that learners understand their basic emergency response actions during a helicopter emergency using the CA-EBS
ACHIEVEMENT OF CERTIFICATION
To successfully achieve the Tropical BOSIET with Shallow Water Training the learners will need to complete:
The 4 mandatory units of Tropical BOSIET: Safety Induction, Sea Survival & Emergency First Aid, Fire Fighting & Self Rescue, Helicopter Safety & Escape and, one mandatory unit of Shallow Water CA-EBS Training, Helicopter Emergencies.
