AIM
This Product is for learners who are undertaking BOSIET with EBS and Travel Safely by Boat Initial Training consecutively
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the BOSIET (with EBS) Training are that learners will be able to:

Identify the generic hazards which are specific to offshore oil and gas installations, potential risks associated with those hazards, and how controls are put in place to eliminate or reduce risks.

Identify key offshore related safety regulations and explain the basic safety management concepts.

Demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment, and follow procedures in preparing for, and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.

Demonstrate sea survival and first aid techniques

Demonstrate that they can effectively use basic firefighting equipment, and practice self-rescue techniques in low visibility situations, to include smoke filled areas.

The objectives of the Travel Safely by Boat Initial Training are that learners will be:

Awareness of the risks to which they are exposed and how they are managed

An understanding of the essential safety rules with which they must comply and how to act in an emergency

An increase in their personal commitment to safety

Effective use of personal safety equipment

Practice and demonstrate the correct method of boat transfers (simulated boat deck and installation
ACHIEVEMENT OF CERTIFICATION
To successfully achieve the BOSIET with EBS and Travel Safely by Boat Initial Training the learners will need to complete:
The 4 mandatory units of BOSIET EBS: Safety Induction, Sea Survival & Emergency First Aid, Fire Fighting & Self Rescue, Helicopter Safety & Escape and, one mandatory unit of Travel Safely by Boat Initial Training which is Travel Safely by Boat.
